POWER PROJECTS, EPC & MARINE CONSTRUCTION
Power Projects, EPC & Marine Construction
We advise on the full gamut of power projects covering both traditional and renewable energy including feedstock, PPAs and EPC arrangements covering regional jurisdictions such as Indonesia, India and Bangladesh. We have advised clients on delay, acceleration, prolongation and LD claims arising from various projects.
Our offshore construction capabilities extend to advising on the construction of specialized equipment used in the oil & gas industry including rigs, drill ships, FPSOs, FSRUs and OSVs. Construction of specialized vessels often involve delays and variations, with extensions of time and liquidated damages a perennial theme in most mandates. Price fluctuations in raw materials, changes to demand on the orderbook and force majeure events also contribute to volatility in this sector. We work with Chinese and English counsel when dealing with marine construction issues involving Chinese yards, often pre-empting problems from a contract management point of view.
